Total Budget: ₹1 lakh crore

The RDI Fund provides long-term, innovation-driven financing through the following modes:

• Low interest long-term loans, typically unsecured, for eligible R&D and deep-tech projects.
• Equity financing, particularly for startups and early-stage deep-tech ventures.
• Contributions to Deep-Tech Fund of Funds (FoF) or other ROI-oriented FoFs aligned with national innovation priorities.

The scheme does not provide:

• Grants;
• Short-term loans, as these are expected to be met through commercial financing.

The scheme shall provide financing up to 50% of the total assessed project cost. The remaining cost must be met by the project proponent through self-financing or commercial sources. In exceptional cases or strategic sectors, this limit may be relaxed with the approval of the EGoS.
